Geri Glover, Ph.D., LPCC, RPT-S
After several careers, (legal administrator, investment banking, elementary school teacher) I found my true calling as a play therapist in 1991. This passion became so strong that I pursued a doctoral degree at the University of North Texas in order to study with the world-renown play therapist, Dr. Garry Landreth.

My passions.
Play Therapy and working with children.
I feel that I am in the perfect position to promote play therapy as a viable and vital intervention for the treatment of young children. I served on the Board of Directors for the Association for Play Therapy for 6 years and continue to serve on the state play therapy board.

Diversity
In addition to play therapy, I am also a strong advocate for diversity training and cultural awareness in clinical practice, especially with children and their families. My research and publications have been primarily in this area. |

Emily & Sadie add spice to my life.
What have I been doing the last 20 years?
I did clinical work from 1990 until 2006 when I accepted a faculty position with the College of Santa Fe. Since then, I have moved to a counseling faculty position with New Mexico Highlands University. I have a young daughter named Emily, a pit bull/boxer cross named Sadie, and a small townhouse in Santa Fe; a city I have loved since coming here in 1976 to attend St. John’s College.
